Unique Activities
We continue introducing Cataler's unique efforts to achieve sustainable success, including a business continuity management system that anticipates various threats such as earthquakes and tsunamis, the challenge to improve quality based on the concept of "Build-in quality with ownership" , and a global production management system.
Cataler-Business Continuity Management
C-BCM (Cataler - Business Continuity Manegement)
Cataler builds and operates its own business continuity management system called C-BCM to prepare for various threats such as earthquakes and tsunami. *ISO22301: International standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS).
Human Asset Management
C-HAM (Cataler - Human Asset Management)
Human asset (*) management system that develops personnel who can shine as company assets. C-HAM is an efficient and reliable training method that "takes three steps and then two steps forward" unlike the time-consuming training methods we have been doing so far.. We are working company-wide to ensure that all Cataler person shine in the future. *Cataler considers its personnel as "assets" rather than "resources", which is why we use the Japanese kanji character that means human assets instead of human resource.
PR strategy
Cataler Public Relations Strategy (C-PRS)
Strategic public relations (*) with stakeholders is carried out in a way that considers the content, form and methods of disseminating information to be transmitted (provided) and information received (collected), as well as the way in which the organization and employees should handle such information.
*Public Relations
The purpose of public relations is to create good relationships between companies, organizations and society. In order to build good relationships, it is necessary to convey information so that the other person can understand you correctly, and at the same time, it is necessary to receive information so that you can understand the other person correctly. Therefore, public relations includes both the transmission and reception of information, and refers to communication activities conducted for the purpose of building good relationships with the target audience.
Improvement activities of work quality
C-QIC (Cataler - Quality Innovation Challenge)
We use the concept of TQM (Total Quality Management) to achieve management goals and strategies, and one of the TQM activities is "C-QIC". C-QIC refers to initiatives that take on the challenge of improving the quality of products and work based on the concept of “Own- Process Completion” (*). This activity is being promoted company-wide, not only in manufacturing departments, but also in clerical and indirect departments.
*Own-Process Completion
Toyota's initiative to ensure that "quality must be built-in within each process (from the 75-year history of Toyota Motor Corporation)" is put into practice by adding a scientific approach, and aiming to 'make on-the-spot judgments about whether a job is good or bad'.
QC circle activities (improvement activities by small group of person)
QC (Quality Control) circle activities
Cataler's QC circle activity (*) is an important activity involving all employees to improve enhance customer value and organizational capabilities. We are promoting the activities throughout the whole company, not only in manufacturing departments, but also in clerical and indirect departments. In addition, we are pursuing these activities not only in Japan but also throughout the entire Cataler Group, including overseas bases.
*QC Circle
QC is an abbreviation for Quality Control.
The QC circle is a small group of people working in front-line workplaces who continuously manage and improve the quality of products, services, and work. This small group operates autonomously, utilizes QC concepts and methods, demonstrates creativity, and promotes activities for self-development and mutual development.

Equipment development in line with cost advantages
Innovative industrial processes / equipment development
We have developed ZECT (*), a coating method that is superior in quality and cost. All products within the group are manufactured using the same processing method. Moreover, for developing countries where exhaust gas regulations are becoming stricter, we are developing small production equipment that maintain high quality, are maneuverable, and enable phased capital investment.
*ZECT (Zero Emission Coat & quick Calcination with Traceability)
Cataler's original catalyst production equipment, which started mass production in 2007. This equipment, which was realized by acquiring technology that can control the viscosity of various slurries, adopts a method that applies all the target slurry weight.
System to ensure product quality
C-TOP (Cataler - Total Operation Procedure)
In order to continuously achieve zero market complaints and zero delivery failures, an optimum quality assurance system has been established by defining the roles of each organization involved in the production process, including key processes and timing of activities, and synchronizing all operations.
Cataler was certified QS9000 in 1997, ISO9001 in 1998, and ISO/TS16949 in 2005.
Since 2014, we have adopted the concept of JISQ9005, and since 2017, we have built a quality management system based on IATF16949.
Global Production Management System
G-CPS (Global - Cataler Production management System)
This is a "global production management system" that unifies all the production systems of the Cataler Group companies, and aims for optimal MONOZUKURI (manufacturing). It was planned as part of the IT strategy "i - Cataler 2022" (*) to implement Cataler's management strategy. It is responsible for standardizing operations, optimizing inventories, improving productivity, saving labor, maximizing profits through globally optimized production, managing risks, and responding to contingencies to ensure global continuity of production.
*i-Cataler2022
This is an activity to build a system that contributes to management by utilizing IT.
Factory IoT
