Particulate Matter
Particulate Matter (PM) refers to air-pollution-causing particles, such as soot, dust, and sulfur oxides (SOx), emitted from factories, automobiles, ships, and airplanes among others. Since these particles are very small in size, they can easily penetrate deep into the human lungs. So, it is considered that they increase the risk of respiratory diseases, such as asthma and bronchitis, and circulatory diseases.
