Pellet 3-way catalyst

Our company, which was a venture company at that time, had almost no knowledge of catalysts. Meanwhile, in response to the growing demand for purification of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in exhaust gas due to pollution problems, etc., after development setbacks, we made the first pellet catalyst in Japan in which rhodium (Rh) was added to platinum (Pt). Although there was a problem with heat resistance and erosion, the use of pellet catalysts became possible as the level of engine control technology improved.
