Growth
Cataler used new technologies to solve a series of problems and grew its business, such as the Pd-only 3-way catalyst that used only palladium (Pd), which was inexpensive at the time, and the world's first NOx occlusion reduction catalyst. In 1996, the Cataler Group's first overseas production base, Cataler Thailand (CTC), was established. In 1998, the company name was changed to Cataler Corporation with the meaning of "People who make catalysts".

NOx storage reduction type 3-way catalyst
With the tightening of regulations on CO2 (carbon dioxide) and NOx (nitrogen oxides) in various countries, we focused on the fact that NOx can be stored. Based on this, we worked on the development of technology to optimize the arrangement of substances with NOx storage function, and precious metals with catalytic function. This enabled "NOx storage" and "optimization reduction function of stored NOx", and succeeded in achieving both improved fuel efficiency and NOx purification. This technology was highly acclaimed, and won numerous awards, including the Toyota Motor Corporation Technology & Development Award.
