To the new employees joining us in the 2025 fiscal year, congratulations on your entry into the company.
All of us here at CATALER have been eagerly anticipating this day. First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt "gratitude" to each of you.
Thank you for choosing CATALER among the numerous job opportunities available. We are committed to growing our company in a way that meets your expectations and makes you feel glad that you chose us.
It has been six months since we met at the job offer ceremony last year, and I am sure you have experienced some anxiety during this period. I still remember when I participated in the entrance ceremony 40 years ago. I was filled with anxiety, transitioning from a student to a working adult in a completely different environment.
At CATALER, we embody the spirit of caring and support, with each employee taking a proactive stance. We aim to alleviate your anxiety and provide solid support.
Now, I would like to introduce the driving force behind CATALER.
Firstly, since its foundation, CATALER has cherished a set of common values. These values are summarized in the "CATALER Way":
Sincerity
Teamwork
Purpose-oriented
Continuous improvement
Creation of new paths
These five values are our guiding principles that we must uphold as we work. When you face confusion or doubts after joining, I hope you will focus on these five driving forces and think about what you should do.
Secondly, last year we established the "Global Vision 2035" for the next decade. The direction for the CATALER Group is to solve social and customer challenges, contributing to a circular economy and a decarbonized society. The theme is "Challenge for Transformation."
We have utilized our catalytic technology to control chemical reactions and neutralize harmful substances. Moving forward, we aim to turn these neutralized substances into beneficial resources, creating a sustainable loop. We are determined to take on this transformation challenge.
Our first business is the exhaust gas purification catalysts, which have been our core business since our founding. While electric vehicles will continue to spread, our exhaust gas purification catalysts remain essential. We can contribute significantly to new engine developments and multi-pathways at our parent company, Toyota Motor Corporation. We aim to generate solid revenue from our existing business while strengthening our second focus, the hydrogen business.
The third focus is to address resource and energy issues through new business ventures. We are committed to realizing the Global Vision 2035 for this business. We want to take on this challenge together with the 34 of you here.
Now, I have three expectations and requests as you join the company.
Firstly, let's communicate openly and honestly. While it can be challenging to speak candidly, we aim to create a workplace where open communication is encouraged. We strive to solve various challenges and problems through dialogue and collaboration.
Secondly, do not fear failure. Failure is an inevitable part of transformation. Over my 40-year career, I have experienced many failures. Success and growth cannot be achieved without setbacks. We embrace failure as a part of the learning process. I hope you will take on challenges without fear.
Lastly, prioritize safety and health. You will hear about the importance of safety constantly within the company. Safety is always our top priority. Never forget this. Additionally, managing your health well from a young age will significantly impact not only your career but also your long-term well-being. Prioritize safety and health throughout your career.
Finally, to the 34 new employees joining today, let us embrace the challenge of transformation together. While individual efforts are important, working as a team enables us to achieve greater things. I look forward to the 34 of you demonstrating excellent teamwork, and with that, I conclude my welcome speech.
Thank you.
